Yes Select No Select Pain at the Pump - America's Energy Crisis Average National Gas Prices by State as of June 16th, 2022 Under the Biden Administration's policies, we have increasingly felt pain and eventual rage at the pump. The price of gas has gone up almost $2 in one year: the national average a year ago was $3.08, and the national average as of June 16th is $5.01. The disastrous increase in our gas prices is directly correlated to policies implemented by the Biden Administration. The first day of his presidency, Biden issued an executive order that halted construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline by revoking their permit, which would have transported 830,000 barrels of oil a day from Canada to the Gulf Coast. Rather than continually relying on OPEC+ countries for our oil supply, the Keystone XL Pipeline would have allowed us to become even more energy independent. A few days later, Biden enacted Executive Order 14008. This imposed a moratorium on any new oil and gas lease sales of federal land and water for an undetermined amount of time. Not only is this hindering our ability to increase our domestic oil and gas supply, research shows that a moratorium lasting 4 years is projected to result in the loss of 157,000 jobs by 2026, and a moratorium lasting 8 years is projected to result in the loss of 340,000 jobs by 2030. Although a federal judge has overturned this Executive Order, no new leases have been approved. Biden also removed the sanctions put in place by the Trump Administration on the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline in Russia which gave them the green light to proceed with construction. After pressure due to the war in Ukraine, Biden's policies reversed support for the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline, and reinstated the Trump Era sanctions in an effort to weaken Russia. It is evident that the Biden Administration's policies are not working, and need to change IMMEDIATELY. It's time to stop the assault on American energy production and the American energy industry, end the freeze on new federal oil and gas permits, fast track liquified natural gas export permits, and expedite all pipeline projects. Enacting these protocols and stopping the war on American energy would significantly decrease the cost of gas, and allow our paychecks to go a bit farther. Make America energy DOMINANT again!
