John,

As a physician, I've served thousands of patients across Southern California.

I often describe my practice as a revolving, one-on-one town hall. I treat physical ailments, but over time it's not hard to see bigger patterns emerge. There are a number of social and political issues that have contributed to an overall decline in our health and well-being.

Whether it’s the air quality triggering asthma symptoms, the lack of preventative health care keeping folks from seeking care earlier, or even extreme stress at home or work due to rising costs -- our community is facing serious problems. And these problems need meaningful policy solutions that are not being addressed.

I'm running for Congress because we need competent leaders in Washington who will wake up every day to solve our problems rather than add to them. Toxic partisanship is not working -- and we certainly don’t need any more politicians who vote to protect special interests instead of the working families they are supposed to serve.

It’s time to turn over a new leaf and put the people of our community first. That's a major reason why I refuse to accept corporate PAC contributions to this campaign, and it's why I'm depending on your support to win this race:

The end of this month marks our first FEC fundraising deadline of the general election, and we're aiming to bring in $35,000 in online donations before it hits. Can you chip in $3 right now to help us meet this goal?

When a patient comes into my office, they don’t say whether they are a Republican or Democrat. We find out what’s wrong, and work together to solve the issue. Congress shouldn’t be any different.
