This weekend the Texas Republicans held their annual convention and outlined their party’s platform heading into the midterms. But instead of resolving to fix our state’s broken power grid or end the war on drugs in our state, here’s what they did:

• Formally rejected President Biden’s victory over Trump
• Labeled homosexuality “an abnormal lifestyle”
• Called for Texas to secede from the United States
• Rejected marijuana legalization
• Supported defunding our public schools
• Called for criminalizing all abortions
