John,

As you know, tomorrow is Father’s Day, so I wanted to share a few thoughts with you about the fathers in my life. Later, I will ask you to chip into my campaign for Congress, so I can work to build a stronger future for our communities in Congress. [[link removed]]

My own father, Al Baldus, was a true public servant. He served our country in WWII and the Korean Conflict. Later, he served our state as a legislator in Madison and then as a Congressman in Washington. However, it was his patience, kindness, and quiet strength he showed for my family, day in and day out, that I valued most about my father. So much of who my father was, and what he spent his career doing, has inspired my path in the military and public service.

My husband, Kevin, is also a committed public servant to our country and a partner to me in raising our children. He served in the Army for 32 years, putting his life on the line to protect the freedoms we hold dear. His service (and mine) meant we have spent many of our 34 years of marriage apart. We traded off responsibilities in raising our children as one of us deployed and the other stayed to care for our family. Being a military spouse and parent is not easy, but I am deeply grateful for the sacrifices Kevin made for our country and our family. Now our son is a father and serving in the military.

My father, husband, and son inspire me as caring parents every day. On the long days campaigning for Congress, I know the sacrifices I am making will all be worth it for the opportunity to build a stronger future for Wisconsinites, and all the families like mine across the country.

That’s why I have to ask you to chip in to support the campaign we’re building together. Any amount you can contribute today will make a difference as we gear up for our upcoming election >>> [[link removed]]
