The NC legislature is in the process of approving a bill that would make online sports betting legal in our state — possibly even in time for the Panthers’ opening day. In 2018, the Supreme Court struck down a federal law that had banned most sports betting for decades, and in the years since, dozens of states have legalized the practice. Governor Cooper approved a study of the impacts of sports betting in our state several years ago, including looking at how much revenue legalization could bring to our state. That’s money that we could reinvest in supporting North Carolina families, improving state infrastructure, and more. Roy is ready to sign the bill if it passes. But first, he wants to check in with you to gauge how folks in your area view this issue. Please take our poll before midnight to share your input with Roy:
We appreciate your response! Team Cooper
