Hello,
Fifty years ago today, the trailblazers and heroes at the Stonewall Inn fought back against brutality and oppression. And before that, LGBTQ people fought at Cooper Do-Nuts … Compton’s Cafeteria … The Black Cat Tavern … and on the sidewalks of New York, Washington, D.C. and across our nation.
It’s also WorldPride … where millions are gathering in New York City this weekend to recognize the progress we’ve made and to take to the streets for the biggest Pride march ever!
And starting right now, you can participate virtually with HRC — so even if you can’t attend WorldPride, you can take part and show your support for LGBTQ equality.
Just add your name through this simple online form or text MARCH to 472472. Then look for your name on HRC’s Virtual Pride March page!
Especially now, it’s vital that LGBTQ people and friends come together, remember the struggles we’ve faced and celebrate how far we’ve come. Our rallying cry this year is People. Power. Pride. — because it’s people like you who celebrate your pride in your individuality that give our fight for equality its power.
So, whether you are physically attending a Pride event or not, we want you to be a part of this special 50th anniversary celebration. Join in — add your name NOW!
With Pride,

Zack Hasychak
Director, Membership Outreach
