Who taught you how to bait a hook

or spot a deer ? "right there! look, *look!*"

Could name a bird just from its song

and only, rarely, got it wrong?

?

Who taught you how to ride a bike

or led you on your first long hike?

Showed you how to skip a rock,

(all things you can't wrap in a box).

?

Who taught you how to climb up trees,

to smell the flowers ? watch for bees!

Who loves to paddle, wade and swim?

That's right. It's Dad. Three cheers for him!

?

So here's to all the outdoor dads?

who show their children, girls and lads,

the joys of Texas' great outdoors.

They're pretty cool.

"*Especially yours.*"
