SAN DIEGO, CALIF.- On Thursday, the San Diego Police Officers' Association (SDPOA) endorsed Brian Maryott for Congress and Jared Wilson, President, released the following statement:
"The San Diego Police Officers’ Association is committed to keeping our community safe. Crime is rising nationwide and right here at home in San Diego. Brian Maryott is the leader we need in Washington. We trust that Brian will stand for law and order, support our law enforcement officers, and advocate for the resources we need to do our job. On behalf of the San Diego Police Officers’ Association, I am pleased to announce that Brian Maryott has our total endorsement."
Brian Maryott responded, "We are very proud and grateful to receive the endorsement of the SDPOA. As the second largest police organization in California, they know what it takes to keep our amazing community safe. It is crucial that we fully support our world class police officers."
Maryott added, “Levin’s support for ill-conceived federal policing legislation, and his foolish ideas about reimagining policing, will make the job far more dangerous and our communities less safe. In San Diego we are already struggling to retain our best officers, we don’t need more destructive policies from Washington to make it harder still.”
It is clear that our law enforcement officers are seeking an alternative to Mike Levin in Congress, and they know that Brian Maryott will be the pro-law enforcement Representative we need.
