*NOAA Digital Coast: An introduction to nature-based solutions for coastal hazards (virtual training)*

*June 22, 2:00 PM*

?

This two-part training is a starting point in preparing coastal managers and planners to plan and implement green (nature-based) infrastructure projects to reduce natural coastal hazards in their community.

The training consists of the following two parts:

The self-guided module covers foundational concepts prior to attending a virtual webinar. Participants will learn an approach for identifying your community?s coastal hazard issues, ecosystem services that can reduce hazard impacts, and green infrastructure practices that can provide those services.

* Part 2: An Introduction to Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Hazards Webinar (2 hours) [ [link removed] ].?A training webinar where participants interact with their peers and local experts to learn more about green infrastructure implementation and overcoming challenges.

After completing the training, participants will be able to describe the green infrastructure practices that can reduce hazard impacts and build resilience in their community. Participants will connect with experts and colleagues who can provide additional information and guidance on implementing green infrastructure and learn about resources and future opportunities for learning. The training is hosted by the Michigan Coastal Management Program and NOAA?s Office for Coastal Management.
