John,



It’s been a busy week, but I wanted to loop you in on how I am fighting for
our conservative values in Washington.



This week, I was proud to lead the debate on the House Floor against the
recent gun control bill pushed by Democrats in Congress.



Democrats decided to ram their "Red Flag" gun control legislation through the
House. I joined the majority of my Republican colleagues in voting against this
measure. We already have gun laws on the books that need to be enforced. There
is no need for legislation that continues to erode our right to bear arms as
enshrined in the Second Amendment.



The bill would raise the age limit for buying a semi-automatic rifle and
prohibit the sale of ammunition magazines with a capacity of more than 15
rounds. Not only is this likely unconstitutional, but it is also hypocritical.
We ask men and women as young as 18 years old to take up arms and defend our
country overseas, but those same individuals would lose their right to purchase
a long gun at home.



Burdensome regulations often stifle innovation and economic development. In
the agriculture sector, this is all too true. America's farm families and
consumers were struggling before Russia invaded Ukraine; the conflict has made
it worse. That’s why I and my Republican colleagues on the House Committee on
Agriculture penned a solutions-based letter to President Biden to help address
bureaucratic red tape. We focused on specific solutions, such as removing
onerous climate regulations and managing fertilizer and compliance costs on
farms.



John, I ran for Congress to stand up for our values and duly represent the
people of the 7th Congressional District. Contribute today and help me in my
fight to return our conservative values to Congress!
