Once again, Governor Mike DeWine caved to the gun lobby by signing a bill into law that will put more armed teachers in our schools -- even though this bill was opposed by Ohio teachers and law enforcement officials, DeWine made it clear he values dirty gun lobby money more than he values the lives of Ohio families, students, and law enforcement.

Gov. DeWine’s signature on this bill is just the latest way he’s broken his promise to "do something" following the mass shooting in Dayton in 2019.

Let's be clear: This is NOT what Ohioans meant when they called on DeWine to stand up to the gun lobby to protect the lives of innocent people from being massacred in school, work, and public gatherings.

Ohioans deserve a leader with a spine who is willing to say "enough is enough" when faced with the choice between more loss of life and corrupt money from special interests. But I'll be honest, none of us should be surprised that, instead of doing the right thing, DeWine once again refused to show Ohioans he values human life over his own self-serving agenda, especially considering that he's received more gun lobby money than any other in-state politician.
