St. George Spectrum: Erin Rider makes first Republican challenge to five-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Chris Stewart

Here are some quick highlights:

“In an interview with The Spectrum, Rider said she believes this election will offer something that Republican voters in the 2nd District haven’t had in nearly a decade — a choice.

“I've had a number of people across the district say things to me like, ‘we've always voted for Stewart, but we've never had an opportunity to compare him to another Republican,’” she said.”

“Rider has never held elected office before but she does have experience working within Congress since she was a law clerk for the Senate Finance Committee under Sen. Orrin Hatch.”

“She said experience in Washington, combined with what she saw while watching the events of the 2020 election, is what inspired her to run.”

“Rider thinks there is more opportunity for a representative of the 2nd District to accommodate concerns around legislation to build consensus with other Republicans and Democrats. “

Do you agree with Erin that there is more opportunity for Utah’s 2nd District?

There are just two weeks left in this election.

Can you chip in $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can afford to power our campaign to victory in June?
