John, my name is Karin Norington-Reaves – I’m a former educator, a lawyer, a dedicated job creator, and a mother of two running for Congress to represent IL-01.

I’m going to ask you to chip in $25 to my campaign, [[link removed]] but first I want to explain why I’m running.

I have my mother to thank for the urgency I feel to stand up and advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves.

It inspired me to become a litigator, non-profit leader, and adjunct law professor, working in the fields of mental health law, community and workforce development, education, and public utility consumer protection.

I’ve fought to place 100,000 people into long-lasting careers and managed half a billion dollars of economic investments in job training and placement and business development.

Now, that urgency has inspired me to take a stand for the people of Chicago and be the fighter they need in Congress.

This community – my community – is full of untapped potential. Being willing to stand up and make a change is the first step to unlocking it. So I’m building a grassroots coalition to help me do just that. If you’re with me, will you chip in $25 or anything you can to my campaign? [[link removed]]

I’m a third-generation Chicagoan. I was raised by a mother who was willing to take in anyone in need with love and compassion. She taught me the value of education, excellence, and service.

Throughout my life, I have risen above every obstacle and proven wrong every naysayer because I always had someone in my corner believing in me. I’m running for Congress because I believe in Chicago. This community deserves a fighter in its corner – I'm running to be that fighter.

I have spent my career lifting people up. Making smart investments in our community is how we can bring Chicago into the future. From a well-funded education system to professional development programs for hardworking families, we have the power to make the changes we want to see.

All it takes is a spark.

I believe in Chicago, and I’m running for Congress to unlock our potential. If you’re standing with me, chip in $10, $15, or anything you can to help this campaign keep up the momentum.
