DEAR ,

LET’S TALK ABOUT SEX. Or rather, let’s talk about how, as a community,
we must come together to reduce unintended teenage pregnancy through
abstinence-plus education and access to contraception.

DID YOU KNOW THAT TEXAS HAS MORE TEEN PARENTS THAN ANY OTHER STATE IN THE
NATION? Texas also has one of the highest teen birth rates (9th overall in
2020), and the highest rate of repeat teen births. In some parts of Texas,
the teen pregnancy rate is many times the national average.

Early and unintended childbearing can make it harder for youth to fulfill
their academic potential, achieve their career aspirations, and build
healthy families. _EMPOWERING ADOLESCENTS TO DETERMINE WHETHER AND WHEN TO
BECOME PARENTS CAN HELP STRENGTHEN FAMILIES, IMPROVE CHILD WELLBEING, AND
SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR GOALS. _

Getting teens the resources and education they need is critical. AS A
COMMUNITY, WE MUST ENSURE THAT YOUTH HAVE ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION THEY
NEED TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS ABOUT THEIR SEXUAL HEALTH.

For Texas teens and their families (or caregivers), the right time to talk
about sex was yesterday. Join us by making a donation to support our work!

In gratitude,

The Texas Campaign
