I have never been more proud to be part of the March for Our Lives, John. 

Thank you, to each and every one of you who took a big step today to end the violence and the heartbreak. Millions of us, of all backgrounds and across the partisan divide, took to the streets with a unified demand for Congress to do something to end gun violence. 

This time is different. I can feel it. We are on the brink of winning and passing legislation that will save countless lives. I’ve heard from hundreds of thousands of Republicans, gun owners, Democrats and many others across the 450+ marches who all agree – we need to put our politics aside to focus on the solutions that we can agree on.

This is not a moment, this is a movement. I’m so thankful for all of the participation and support that we received today. But what matters even more is what we do after June 11th. 

We’re not going anywhere. After the march, we are going to do everything in our power to make change, from voting, to showing up at Senator’s offices and state legislatures, to shifting the culture and changing hearts and minds. We’re going to do everything that it takes to protect our kids and save future generations from having to suffer through the fear and trauma of gun violence. 

We don’t have the level of funding of many other national organizations. We are a team of young people and survivors who just want peace. Peace is possible but it will take persistence and persistence requires resources to be sustained.
