That means that soon the extreme conservative 6-3 supermajority of this Supreme Court will release decisions in what could be some of the most important cases of my lifetime. This year will be the first full term since Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans stole 2 seats to cement a far-right supermajority on the Court. And last month’s leaked opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization signals that these partisans in robes are gearing up to drastically reshape American law and life for decades.

The leaked opinion in Dobbs makes it clear that a majority of this Court is ready to end abortion rights as we know them — but it’s likely not the only case where the right-wing justices are ready to overturn long-standing precedent to enact an agenda that’s wildly out of step with the majority of Americans.
