I know. You probably weren’t expecting an email from me about gun violence prevention. But enough is enough—this epidemic of gun violence must end.

Let me make something crystal clear: There is no such thing as reproductive freedom when our children and our communities are under the constant threat of gun violence.

That’s why I’m calling on every NARAL Pro-Choice America member, in every state, to join millions of Americans across the country this Saturday, June 11th in demanding the Senate take immediate action to prevent gun violence. Will you show up?

We can no longer ignore the nexus between our nation’s monstrously weak gun laws and the increasing number of attacks on abortion access—both of which have a disproportionate effect on communities of color and people struggling to make ends meet. As our partners in the reproductive justice movement have long pointed out: It’s all connected. We have to prevent gun violence in this country if we want to have true reproductive freedom.
