Hi Folks

Please join our Zoom call tomorrow Saturday June 11 at 10 AM. We will discuss a few important bills, upcoming hearings, and actions you can take to influence the outcomes.

All bills must have passed out of their house of origin to the second house by now, or they are dead.

Our Opposition helped defeat the following

  • Weakening of CEQA (AB 1952 and AB 2445)
  • Parking limits for single family dwellings (AB 1904, AB 2608)
  • Draconian RHINA enforcement (AB 1976)
  • Expanding ADU permit authority to include movable tiny homes (AB 2430)
  • Creation of rental registry covering millions of units with constant changes (AB 2469)
  • Planning fees revision (AB 678, AB 2063)
  • Incentive grants to develop local public golf course space for affordable housing (AB 1910)

We supported bills that failed due to deadline rules:

  • Income tax credits for small businesses for each employee who telecommute at least 25 hours/wk. (AB 2620)
  • Clarifies rules on public remote participation in meetings of state agencies (AB 1795)
  • Limits applicability of local rent control measures owned by business owning more than 10 single family homes and has gross receipts of $1 billion or more. (AB 1791).

We have received a generous offer to match your contributions through this weekend, so please contribute now to help us continue to lobby for good bills and fight bad ones for you, while keeping you informed and involved. Become a sustaining member with a modest monthly donation. If you can't become a monthly contributor, please send a spot contribution to help the cause here.

2nd house hearings will all take place in June. This is the most critical time to submit your position letters through the Position Letter Portal for bills you strongly support or oppose.

The legislature will be on break July 1 to August 1

This is a good time to meet with your legislator in the district. You can find your legislator here.
