Hi John,

Yesterday was a momentous day. Rep Nika was part of a House vote that overrode Governor Charlie Baker’s veto on House Bill 4805, known as the Work and Family Mobility Act.

Once this bill is law, residents of the commonwealth will see many benefits such as higher accountability and safety on roads and the creation of new jobs. This new law will allow all eligible Massachusetts residents to apply for a regular Massachusetts driver’s license, regardless of immigration status

This is just another step in continuing the fight to welcome and protect immigrants in the Commonwealth!

Keeping Rep Nika on Beacon Hill is vital to continue work like this. But we need your help! We have several exciting opportunities to volunteer and get involved with Team Nika coming up!

This evening, the 9th, we will be having a short volunteer training followed by a canvass and a phone bank! We will be meeting at an office space in JP at 315 Centre Street at 6:00 PM, training folks on MiniVan and how to talk to people in the community about Nika. You can register here!

On Saturday, June 11, we will be launching two canvases to continue to ID votes across the district!

The first one will be launching from Almont Park (39 Almont Street) in Mattapan from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. You can RSVP here!

The second canvass on Saturday will be in JP with the campaign of Sam Montaño, the candidate that Nika has endorsed running for the 15th Suffolk Rep seat!

We will be launching from the office space in JP at 315 Centre Street at 3:00 PM to get folks in the neighborhood excited about both campaigns. You can RSVP here to join us!

We hope to see you there!

Best,
Fons
Media and Operations Coordinator
