John,
Folks are struggling to get by all across the country — Congress is letting us down. This is what it looks like when corporations are influencing our government while Democrats are in control of Congress and the White House.
These headlines in The Lever, Guardian, CNBC, and Politico all from the last few weeks show us a Democratic establishment who has been more concerned with corporate profits than the needs and well-being of the people.
Democrats have let policies expire that help keep kids out of poverty. Their biggest health care reform was a massive transfer of money to private insurers, all to temporarily cut premiums for some Americans. Now, they’re raising Medicare prices and, very likely, allowing universal free school lunch to end.
Our Justice Democrats bloc in Congress voted AGAINST the party establishment when corporate Democrats gave away its leverage over President Biden’s Build Back Better Act, legislation that could have secured huge wins for the people — like an expansion of the Child Tax Credit, getting more people covered under Medicare and Medicaid, climate spending, and so much more.
Thank you for being in this fight with us.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
