🎉 Our first MAJOR 2022 victory !! 🎉

Friends, we did it!! Thanks to our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign and the hard work of our partners in South Dakota, we have defeated Amendment C!!

Because of your contributions and support that fueled our work on the ground, direct democracy is safe in South Dakota. The ballot measure will retain its power to bring meaningful change to thousands across the state!

This is a MAJOR win, friend(!!) But there is far more work to do — will you help us keep up the momentum with a donation to fuel our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign today?

Amendment C would have raised the approval threshold for ballot measures to a 60 percent majority — which means a minority of voters could topple popular ballot measures. Today, Amendment C no longer presents a threat to the rights and democratic access of South Dakotans.

Don’t get us wrong — this is a victory worth celebrating, but direct democracy still faces hundreds of other threats from extremist officials in states across the country.

We are doing work just like this all over the country to protect the ballot measure and safeguard the processes Americans use to decide the policies that affect them. We’re excited by this win in SD and putting that energy right back into our other BMRC efforts. Will you contribute to this work, friends, after we’ve shown fantastic results out of South Dakota?

Thanks for your support!
