The vote tally is still being counted, but our lead is strong, and several outlets confirmed that we have secured a top-two slot and are headed to the general election. I'm officially the Democratic candidate running against Ken Calvert in California's 41st Congressional District!

The doors you knocked, the calls you made -- even the conversations you had with friends and neighbors about my race, it all made the difference and propelled us to victory. I also want to thank and commend my primary opponents Shrina Kurani and Brandon Mosely on their hard-fought campaigns.

We are in a critical moment for our democracy.

It's no secret that far-right extremists like Ken Calvert are reassembling and planning a takeover of Congress with Donald Trump back at the helm in the White House.

We've already had a taste of what the Supreme Court is capable of when controlled by a far-right majority. Adding an emboldened GOP-led House to the mix -- with carte blanche on voting rights, LGBTQ equality, and reproductive freedoms -- would be disastrous.
