As a State Senator, Alessandra arrived in Albany to a government plagued by gridlock — one caused by conservatives in our own party, rampant corruption, and cronyism at the highest levels.

Through hard work, Alessandra and our progressive allies across New York were able to break through and deliver a series of wins — including codifying Roe statewide and expanding voting rights.

Now, she's ready to take her leadership to Congress where I know she’ll continue fighting for working people. We can count on her to stand with our movement on critical issues such as abortion rights, championing the Green New Deal and Medicare for All, and fighting to raise the minimum wage.

Like all candidates I’ve endorsed, we have an incredible opportunity to continue building progressive power by electing Alessandra — but only if we stand together.

This is going to be a competitive and expensive race. She’s running against a well-funded opponent, Sean Patrick Maloney, who also happens to be the chairman of the DCCC.

Alessandra has been here before — she knows what it takes to go up against powerful opponents and win. But the only way she can do that is if we all get involved and stand with her when it matters most.
