Dear friend,

I'm long overdue to give you a personal update after such an eventful May.

The transition I am making from Congress to Lt. Governor of New York is certainly exciting and I am looking forward to representing everyone in this new capacity. I have been touched by the outpouring of support I have received with the announcement of this decision. With that said, I understand that some may have mixed feelings about this change. There is no doubt that we are experiencing unprecedented uncertainty and chaos in the world right now, and I empathize with any of you who feel that this transition adds to the uncertainty.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, friend. I would not be where I am today without the passion and grit from supporters like you. Out of love for your community, your country, and each other, every one of you stepped up to join our fight.

It is not lost on me that this change is occurring just months before what will likely be a tough election year. Please know that I will do everything in my power to keep this seat blue. NY-19 will always be my home and I will not sit on the sidelines as this battle for our democracy continues to unfold.

I have been incredibly blessed to have your support while in Congress and throughout my induction process as Lt. Governor. This state and the people in it have taught me so much and I am humbled to have the privilege to continue to serve you all in Albany.
