With the Supreme Court set to overturn decades of precedent by ending the constitutional right to an abortion, Republicans in states across the nation are passing bills that will ban abortions entirely while jailing people that travel out of state to access the reproductive care they need.

Sadly in 2022, this is the America we find ourselves in, where white male majorities in legislatures and the judiciary can jeopardize the right to choose. This is why all elections – local, state, and federal – matter so much.

The good news is that Democrats in states like Connecticut are working to pass legislation that will stop Republicans from banning residents of their state from getting an abortion in states where the right to choose is protected.
