The Virginia General Assembly is in charge of redistricting for the state. That means they determine the boundaries of the U.S. House districts in Virginia; essentially which cities, towns, and voters fall into which districts. And control of the U.S. House affects people nationwide.

This election will have ramifications far beyond Virginia, and it's coming soon.
