This month, Team Kelly is celebrating the LGBTQ+ community across our state. I want to tell you something -- because I can only imagine how tough some days might be to live as your authentic self in states like Arkansas.
I want you to know that I am so proud of you and that you belong here and are *so* loved, and you’re amazing, and if people don’t support you, I support you. You bring value everywhere you go, and I’m glad you’re here.
As your next Lieutenant Governor, I will *always* show up and advocate for you. I will speak out and take action against your attempted erasure at the hands of elected officials across the state.
Last year in Arkansas, there was a massive attack from the legislature on trans rights, particularly egregious was the ban on gender-affirming healthcare for youth.
Let me be clear: gender-affirming healthcare IS lifesaving healthcare.
Medical decisions should be between a child, their parents, and their doctors -- not politicians in Little Rock.
My opponent, Leslie Rutledge, is one of those elected officials leading the charge against trans rights in our state. I’m going to do everything possible to defeat her in November so kids across our state have someone in Little Rock advocating for their rights.
