Friend,

Title 42 was supposed to end last week. May 23rd was the date the Biden Administration put in place to end the Title 42 policy when they made the announcement on April 1st.

Instead, that did not happen.

Days before the scheduled end of Title 42, a policy that was implemented by the Trump Administration at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 on the premise that it was a public health measure, a federal judge in Louisiana blocked the Biden Administration from ending the policy.

This is a devastating decision for people seeking asylum, who have already faced harm for over 2 years as a result of Title 42. However, this is not the end of the fight to end Title 42.

The White House and members of Congress need to continue to hear from us so our message becomes loud and clear: we are ready to end Title 42 and instead welcome people seeking asylum with dignity and respect.

This week, while members of Congress are on break and back in their districts, I invite you to reach out to them at their local offices and urge them to fight to end Title 42. Find their contact information here>>> [link removed]

Public health experts have long rebutted the notion that Title 42 serves as a public health measure and the majority of Americans support having a fair and humane immigration system that keeps families together and protects those fleeing persecution.

Keeping Title 42 is not just an unnecessary barrier to people seeking safety through our asylum system, but an attack on our entire immigration system. At a time when all forms of immigration are under attack, there is no valid reason to prevent people from following our laws to seek asylum. The consequences for families, children and individuals seeking safety of continuing to close our borders are dire.

We cannot allow this to continue to happen. Contact your member of Congress TODAY>>> [link removed]
