This week in Uvalde, Texas a mourning community is holding 21 funerals for the fourth graders and teachers gunned down last week. Meanwhile the community in Buffalo, New York is still grieving for the 10 people murdered one week earlier by a 19 year old gunman's hate-driven act of domestic terrorism.

America is not the only country in the world that has experienced violent rampages by shooters. But we ARE the only country that has refused to take action to prevent these individuals from having easy access to guns — including to the most modern military-style weapons of human destruction.

We have been here before — but we cannot afford to become numb to these mass murders or to the daily toll of gun violence in our communities. We live in a country where it’s easier to purchase an AR-15 than it is to get a driver's license. And that needs to end.

Please click here to commit yourself to the real work before us — demanding Republican Senators at the very least immediately support universal background checks and limits on the availability of AR-15s to help prevent the next mass shooting, and electing officials up and down the ballot this November who put the safety of our children before the gun industry's profits! What keeps me up at night is knowing that just a few more votes in the Senate could help save lives — like those beautiful children and their teachers in Uvalde and the community members in Buffalo — and so many others.

We cannot afford to give in or give up. We have 160 days until the November election — and we need to make every one of them count!

Thank you,

Chris
