Hi team,
Former Republican Senator Mark Miloscia made a statement recently that outlines the stakes of this election. He was known as a brash right-wing culture warrior, and after the draft Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision was leaked he told a reporter “Now the goal would be getting a pro-life majority in Washington state.” He continued that he expects to achieve that goal within a decade.
Furthermore, Miloscia is running for Secretary of State, the only state-level statewide elected race that will be on the ballot this year.
And make no mistake, my opponent has been one of the most ardent opponents of reproductive freedom in his time in the State House. He will pick up the mantle in the Senate if we aren’t successful and he would seek to impose an abortion ban in Washington. In the past, he has sponsored legislation to ban abortion after 15 weeks and legislation prohibiting abortion performed by means of medication.
In 2018, we won this race by 104 votes . That was in large part due to the incredible team of supporters and volunteers that helped us run a successful campaign. We need to duplicate that again this year. We have been knocking on doors, organizing volunteers, and just opened up our new campaign office. That all costs money, and we are preparing to communicate with voters before the primary as well.
Our team set a goal to raise another $2,500 before the May deadline at midnight tonight. This is the first deadline since the candidate filing deadline and we found out we have two Republican opponents now. Can you help us hit that goal?
