Team,

In the aftermath of the shooting at Robb Elementary School last week, it’s important that we talk about how we got here so we can ensure that this tragedy does not repeat itself.

To do that, we need to talk about Tony Gonzales and GOP propaganda around gun safety reform.

Last year, TX-23 incumbent — who represents the victims of the shooting last week — Tony Gonzales voted against both the Bipartisan Background Checks Act and the Violence Against Women Act, as well as stripping Red Flag Laws from the NDAA.

Let that sink in. Tony Gonzales is okay with sticking to the GOP party line again by doing nothing to protect the lives of women and then bragging about it. This is typical GOP garbage.

If we had common sense gun safety laws like these in place, we could have prevented guns falling into the hands of those who aim to commit violence, like the shooter in Uvalde.

Team, I am not saying that Tony Gonzales is responsible for the deaths of those 21 people — but his vote against those reforms was a vote for gun ownership at any cost, for NRA mega donations, to uphold Republican lies at the cost of the lives of the people he represents.

Republican leaders like him try to tell us that the only way to protect our Second Amendment Rights is to oppose all gun safety reform measures.

I don’t accept that.

As a veteran and a gun owner myself, I understand the reasons to possess a firearm. But I also know that we can protect our right to bear arms while doing what it takes to protect our families and communities from being ripped apart by violence.

This is why I am running to represent TX-23.

Because the majority of Americans already support passing gun safety reforms to prevent gun violence, and we deserve to have representatives in Congress who will listen and take action on behalf of our communities.

If you agree that Texans deserve more and that it’s time to kick reps like Tony Gonzales who refuse to protect both our rights AND our communities out of Congress, will you make a donation to support this campaign? Let’s finally get TX-23 a representative who will put them first.
