** MAY ROUND-UP!
------------------------------------------------------------
MCN is excited to have wrapped up its NYC Speaks activities this past month. We had over 70 participants in both in-person and virtual settings. Thank you to all the participants who made their voices heard on issues impacting our communities, from housing to transportation, youth development, and poverty.

The aim of MCN is just this -- amplifying our voices!

Our MYNYC Fellows are busy completing their final civic leadership projects. Here's a snapshot of a few!

Nadim, from James Madison High School, raised $1600 from his local community to conduct a food drive in his neighborhood! Even though it was raining, our members showed up for fresh produce and staples! Thanks Nadim for helping your community and being a leader!

Next, we have Asif from the Al-Noor Islamic School whose civic leadership project was to educate the youth about healthy eating habits. Check out his video below and see how he influenced the little ones to make healthy eating choices.

And finally, we have Sanjida from Horace Mann High School, who collected 10 boxes of recycled clothing which she donated to the local Salvation Army. Sanjida's project wanted to ensure that the clothing industry doesn't create waste and that we find better ways of recycling clothing. Thanks Sanjida!

These are just some of the projects that are taking place. Our MYNYC students are incredibly talented and care for their communities. Using faith as a foundation, MYNYC fellows actively express their faith through civic leadership and action. Please help support the next generation of leaders by making a contribution to our organization.

This week, we also launched the second cohort of our Muslim Women's Civic Empowerment Program. After the successful completion of the first cohort, we're now in a whole new neighborhood in upper Manhattan to reach women who want to develop their skills as civic agents. Below are pictures of our Program Coordinator, Musfika Moshahid, gathering the women in their orientation to the program.

MCN's programming and community services are made possible through generous donations from our community! We're proud to be recognized by Guidestar ([link removed]) and Charity Navigator's ([link removed]) good nonprofit status! These ratings demonstrate our commitment to transparency and accountability to our donors!

Therefore, please give with confidence to MCN. It is with your support that we can build a Muslim civil-society-based institution advancing the narrative for Muslim Americans.
Please consider a donation of $50, $100, $250 to help us continue building a Muslim institution that empowers our community!

With Gratitude,

Aniqa Nawabi
