TakeCharge Board Asks Kendall Qualls
to Resume Role as President

“I am pleased to announce that Kendall Qualls will return to TakeCharge as President effective June 6, 2022. The Board of Directors were unanimous in our decision to ask Mr. Qualls to return, and he accepted with a minimum two-year commitment, if not longer to the organization,” said Alfrieda Baldwin, TakeCharge board chairman.

Sheila Qualls assumed the role of Executive Director when Mr. Qualls stepped down as president to seek the Republican nomination for governor. After a narrow loss, the board asked Mr. Qualls to resume his role.

Sheila Qualls has done an excellent job at TakeCharge, Baldwin said.“Mrs. Qualls will remain at TakeCharge as Executive Director, but she will adjust to a part-time role so she can devote more time to her family,” Baldwin said.

Mr. Qualls commented that “strengthening faith, family and education is more paramount than ever before in the black community and our broader society. The problems we read about in the news—car jackings, academic disparities and mass shootings—are merely symptoms of the deterioration of all three institutions.”

“The pillars of a strong society are faith, family, and education are deliberately and systematically under attack in the United States. I look forward to working alongside Kendall in our mission to improve the state of Minnesota and the rest of our country,” Sheila Qualls stated.

“Our first priority is the successful launch of I AM A VICTOR ([link removed]) , our first documentary to be released in mid-July. The documentary has been accepted at two film festivals this summer, one in NYC and another in Las Vegas,” she said.
