Friend,

Turn on the TV, listen to the radio, or  even look out your window at all those yard signs –  it's as clear as day we’re well on the road to the midterms. For The Lincoln Project and our allies in the fight for democracy, this is a road that we must all walk together.

Here’s the reason why I’m writing to you today. Over the next couple months, you’re going to be hearing about a lot of high profile races. (You might even hear about one in Ohio from us next week, if I had to guess…) I know the sheer amount of coverage of it all is going to feel overwhelming.

But at The Lincoln Project we’re cutting through all of the noise. We’re putting our money and our time into the races that matter. That means understanding the race's impact on the 2024 Presidential election, whether the MAGA/GOP candidate embraces attacks on our democracy, and how much our team’s money and effort can tip the balance in our favor. We’re not going to be spending our resources on wild goose chases – which is something the Washington establishment should be taking close notes on too – but do you really think they will?

It’s no surprise our targeting is taking us to high profile races like Georgia’s Senate race, where incumbent Raphael Warnock is taking on Herschel Walker. Walker’s candidacy is built on one issue and one issue alone: complete and total fidelity to Donald Trump. He’s running because Trump asked him to. The Senate might hinge on Georgia again, which means there’s a good chance our democracy depends on it, too.

Help us win in Georgia and for democracy nationwide now, Friend. <[link removed]>

We’re going to work in some races you might not have heard about, yet, either. Take a look at the race in Ohio’s 9th District. Incumbent Democrat Marcy Kaptur is facing JR Majewski, who takes “extreme” to a whole new level as a self declared ultra MAGA candidate. We think the race is a coin flip right now, and the margin will be determined by voters who need to hear our unique message. We need to make sure that it lands on the side of democracy.

That’s just a little preview inside two of the federal races we’re targeting as we walk this road to the midterms. There’s a bunch of state races we’re watching too. It's not an exaggeration to say that the outcome of the elections in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania will literally decide the future of non-partisan election administration in our country.

Our approach to the midterms is really a lesson in basic economic scarcity. With supporters like you, Friend, we have the resources to make a real impact on this election cycle. But our resources are not infinite, so we’re allocating our funds to ensure that we reach the voters and decide the races that are the most important to our democratic future.

That’s why The Lincoln Project is different. We don’t have a candidate pushing us to waste resources on ego trips. We know how to win and we’re taking the fight to the races that need our support. And we’ve got an extensive group of pro-democracy supporters like you, Friend, behind us. Our shared values and focus are a huge part of what makes us uniquely qualified to do this work. We did it in 2020 and we’re doing it again in 2022.

Now we’ve got five months to go and we need more support to get us to Election Day. Pitch in to The Lincoln Project today to help us make the biggest possible impact in the 2022 Midterms. <[link removed]>
