Today, I officially filed to put my name on the ballot in Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate race and turned in over 4,000 signatures from folks across the state. Thank you to everyone who helped us get here.

Next up: Defeating Ron Johnson in November! Chip in to help us flip this seat.

This wouldn't have been possible without the incredible grassroots support we’ve seen from across the state, and I wanted to take a moment to share how I got here.

The truth is, I never planned to run for public office. But when Scott Walker tried to consolidate power and get rid of the State Treasurer’s office — a critical check and balance on our government — I knew something had to be done.

So, as a political nobody, I stepped up and took on the most powerful Republican in Wisconsin. I led a statewide grassroots effort to stop Walker’s power grab, and we won with 62% of the vote. It was a landslide victory.

Shortly after, I decided to run for State Treasurer and won my second statewide election — flipping nine Trump counties and winning by a larger margin than the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General. (Heck, I even flipped Ron Johnson’s home county!)

Look, I didn’t run for public office for fame, money, or power. I first ran because I believed the people of Wisconsin deserved to have someone fighting for them, not bending to the will of wealthy donors and corporate interests.

Now I'm running for the U.S. Senate because I'm frustrated by the influence of corporate money in our politics. I'm fed up with Ron Johnson’s refusal to help the people who elected him. And I'm sick and tired of watching our 50/50 Senate majority get blocked by a minority of Republicans at every possible turn.

When I’m in the U.S. Senate, I’ll fight like hell to lower everyday costs for families, protect our democracy, defend reproductive freedom, bring down prescription drug costs, pass critical gun safety legislation — and end the filibuster if that’s what it takes to get it all done.

I’m not taking a dime of corporate PAC money, which means I'm counting on the continued support of this grassroots team to help fund our campaign and help us defeat Ron Johnson.

Now our work continues, and we have to keep up the momentum in the weeks and months ahead. Will you make a donation to my campaign for U.S. Senate before our end-of-month fundraising deadline? I’m counting on folks like you to continue powering our efforts.

Wisconsinites deserve better than Ron Johnson. With your support, we can defeat him and get this Senate seat working for the people — not the special interests.

Thank you for everything. We couldn’t have done this without you.
