If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

My Statement on the NRA Convention

I was originally scheduled to speak at an NRA breakfast this morning. After the heartbreaking and tragic events in Uvalde, I didn't feel that it was appropriate at this time. I contacted the NRA and made them aware of my decision.

Uvalde Press Conference & Beto’s Political Stunt

Beto Stunt [[link removed]] [[link removed]]

At the time of our press conference on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the event, the Governor, myself, and many others received a briefing on the facts as they were believed to be at the time. We have since learned that much of the information we were given in the briefing turned out not to be accurate. Today, the DPS director Colonel Steve McCraw held a press conference with updated information based on camera video, interviews, 911 calls and other data that gives us a more accurate timeline of what happened. Watch [[link removed]] the press conference here. [[link removed]]

This is an unimaginable moment that will impact so many for the rest of their lives. As human beings, Republican or Democrat, we need to come together, put the families first and put politics aside in times like these. Unfortunately, Beto O’Rourke has shown that his political ambitions are more important than these families. His actions were disrespectful to the families, to the community of Uvalde, and to all Texans.

Evil Will Not Win

America Mourns [[link removed]] [[link removed]]

The truth is that we are a broken and divided country. There is so much evil in this world. Hateful rhetoric is everywhere these days. It has to end and it is up to us to fix it. We’ve lost turning our face to God and until we go back to that, we are going to be a lost nation. It is God who will heal us.

Yesterday, I was on Fox and Friends talking about the epidemic of evil and violence in America. You can click here to watch. [[link removed]]

A Very Sad Update

Joe Garcia [[link removed]] [[link removed]]

Joe Garcia, the husband of Irma Garcia, a teacher who was murdered at Robb Elementary Tuesday, died of a heart attack yesterday. [[link removed]] His friends say he died of a broken heart. They leave behind four children.

This latest tragedy for the Garcia family underscores the immense pressure people are under and the incredble pain they are experiencing. Please pray for the Uvalde community and all the families impacted.

The Results Are In…

We were very pleased with the results of the run-off election, and I want to thank the voters who supported the candidates I endorsed. I endorsed 11 candidates this primary season that won on March 1st.

We had 7 endorsed candidates in the run-off election, and all 7 of them won. Thank you all for taking the time to vote. Congratulations to Ken Paxton, Dawn Buckingham, Wayne Christian, Frederick Frazier, Cassy Garcia and Nate Schatzline on your victories in the run-off…and a big thank you to Central Texas for sending Pete Flores to the Texas Senate.

Over this Memorial Day Weekend, where we honor those who have died protecting our country, please countinue to pray for the families and community of Uvalde through these difficult days.

May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all — Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick [[link removed]]
