John,
It’s Jessica Cisneros here. I just wanted to take a moment to say that I’m thankful for our movement, and ask if you could make a split contribution to Justice Democrats and our campaign’s new recount fund?
We’re not backing down from the fight to count every single vote in TX-28. Henry Cuellar is the only one that has declared an outcome, but there are still vote-by-mail ballots that have yet to be counted.
We’re very much in this race, and it’s thanks to this movement that we’re so close to beating a 17-year, corporate-backed opponent. But our race is still too close to call, and we can’t take anything for granted.
To help cover the cost of the recount, we’re launching a new fund to cover the costs to make sure every vote is counted. We’re counting on our grassroots movement to power these efforts and guarantee that the voices of all South Texans are heard. Can you split a contribution between Justice Democrats and our recount fund?
We know that Cuellar’s corporate backers are going to spend as much money as they can on legal challenges, trying to muddy the waters and get as many of our votes thrown out as they can. And remember, Henry Cuellar is backed by the NRA, Big Oil, and the private prison industry.
We need to be ready to counter those challenges and make sure that every vote is counted and everyone’s voice is heard. Our goal is to raise $250,000 so we have the resources we need to fully fund this recount effort.
Thank you so much for your support,
Jessica Cisneros
