It’s well past time to take action against gun violence in America.

The devastating attack in Texas is yet another sad reminder that we lag behind other countries in gun violence prevention. The string of mass shootings we’ve witnessed in recent years is completely unacceptable.

As we all continue to mourn and process this latest attack, I want you to know that I’m working in Congress to take action. I am authoring a package of bills that takes a multi-faceted approach to stopping these attacks.

These are data-backed policies that we must enact to save lives:

  • Reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban
  • Prohibit untraceable, 3D-printed ghost guns
  • Stop those convicted of hate crimes from purchasing guns
  • Close gun sale loopholes
  • Establish an Active Shooter Alert system similar to AMBER Alerts

As President Biden said, we must turn this pain into action.
