We are devastated, angry and quite frankly, broken. The news of another horrific mass shooting at an elementary school in the small town of Uvalde, Texas reinforces what we know about the GOP and the priorities of their apathetic leaders – and it is not the safety of our families nor the lives of our children.
This leaves us once again to ask: How much longer will communities be in danger doing everyday things like going to school, walking down the street, meeting in a house of prayer, or buying groceries from a store?
If you are as devastated as we are and looking for some action to take today, please consider donating to these mutual aid funds our team has vetted. Donations will go to the families impacted by these tragic events:

The members of the GOP continue to refuse taking any action, shooting after shooting. No one deserves to experience this unbearable loss – that’s why we need to elect more leaders like Rep. Lucy McBath, Rep. Susan Wild, and Rep. Lauren Underwood who bring their empathy and firsthand experience to push for gun safety and common-sense legislation that will protect our most vulnerable community members.
Our organization is committed to putting our money behind Democratic women running for office who have what it takes to go up against the National Rifle Association (NRA), far-right candidates, and gun violence itself.
Check out what our AWP endorsees are doing right now in the wake of the ongoing violence of mass shootings:

We can no longer enable these horrific acts of terrorism that threaten our country’s safety by settling for loose gun laws. These moments remind us why we need to keep fighting for and supporting empathetic Democratic leaders to reach office. The GOP has made it clear they will block all gun safety legislation that would protect our children and vulnerable communities, even in their own states.
Our hearts go out to all the families, loved-ones, and parents devastated by this tragedy and we hope anyone still processing this news can take care of themselves today.
- A Woman’s Place
The contemporary political landscape is filled with progressive women who are running for elected office up and down the ballot, who possess a true vision of equality for this country's future. A Woman's Place seeks to support their efforts by providing financial resources to embrace this tongue-in-cheek idea of what a woman's place should be.
We help put women where they belong: positions of political leadership throughout all levels of government.
