WEDNESDAY, MAY 25 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE GREATER GEORGIA SPARKS RECORD VOTER TURNOUT IN STATE’S PRIMARIES ATLANTA—Yesterday, Georgia voters shattered turnout records in the 2022 primary elections. 857,401 voters voted early in-person and absentee compared to 299,347 who voted early and absentee in the 2018 primary. In total, including Election Day turnout, over 1.9 million voters cast their ballots - compared to about 1.2 million in the 2018 primary. Conservatives overwhelmingly dominated the election, with about 63% of voters casting ballots in the Republican primary - up from the 52% who voted Republican in the 2018 primary. "Yesterday's turnout - and the record surge of conservative voters – represents over a year of hard work by Greater Georgia staff and volunteers, who have helped build a a year-round registration and mobilization machine for the conservative movement. With almost 2 million voter contacts, and tens of thousands of newly registered voters, it’s clear that this effort is anchoring a conservative comeback - and putting a stop to the far-Left’s advance on our state,” said former U.S. Senator and Greater Georgia Chairwoman Kelly Loeffler. “We remain squarely focused on November’s general election, and are adding to the ground-game as we look to outperform on the ground again – and to help deliver decisive wins for Georgia conservatives.” ### Media Contact: [email protected] Paid for by Greater Georgia Action, Inc.
