OpenSecrets donor drive ends today. Help us reach our goal!

OpenSecrets is an island of facts in a sea of misinformation.
One of our donors sent this quote in a message. To us, it’s a thoughtful reminder that we’re supported by people who know the importance of reliable data and trustworthy journalism, and rely on OpenSecrets to decode a complex system of money in politics.

Dear Reader, our spring donor drive ends today and we are close to meeting our goal. Through the drive, 82 amazing people have joined as OpenSecrets supporters, giving us the critical funding needed to power our data work and investigations into elected leaders, dark money networks, lobbyists, billionaire megadonors and more.

We’ve heard from so many of you that OpenSecrets is a vital piece of the puzzle; a public service you use day-in and day-out to understand the money that shapes our government. Here are just a few of the comments we have received:
“As expressed in the Watergate investigation, ‘Follow the money!’ OpenSecrets does that and that is helpful to me in understanding who is supporting what — and why!”

“I cannot imagine doing my job without your source. This information used to be so hard to find, now it is at my fingertips.”

“Someone needs to report financial ties that politicians would rather hide.”

We are proud to know that there are so many like-minded people out there who know the value of fact-based, comprehensive reporting — reporting that’s required to turn data into action.

If you count yourself among them, please consider the importance of our organization in upholding transparency and accountability, and support OpenSecrets today.

P.S. New and important money in politics stories surface throughout the year, which is why many of our donors elect to give on a recurring basis. If you think monthly or quarterly giving is right for you, please select the option on our donation page.
