Defending and expanding voting rights is and MUST be a priority if we are to protect our democracy. The right to vote — to have a say in our representative government — precedes all others. Voting is how we secure every other right we value.

Roy is working hard to ensure that all of us can have our voices heard at the ballot box.

Meanwhile, Republican state legislatures, including here in North Carolina, have passed measures specifically designed to make it harder for some folks to cast a ballot.

Their goal is simple: to remain in power no matter the cost, by any means necessary. And they’ve found that passing anti-voter legislation is a winning strategy. Roy will block GOP efforts to restrict voting rights in NC as long as he has veto power.
