We can grow our progressive movement in Congress by continuing to run and support working-class fighters for Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.

Justice Democrats

John,

Justice Democrats has done something incredible. In just a few years, they have recruited and helped elect a strong, diverse, working-class group of progressives to the U.S. House of Representatives that includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman.

In March, Justice Democrats helped progressive Greg Casar win his primary for the House in Austin, TX. And last week, John, we lifted Summer Lee to victory in her Democratic primary in PA-12.

Summer and Justice Democrats overcame $3 million in attack ads from the corporate political establishment to win this primary. What establishment Super PACs did in Summer’s race to try and defeat a working-class progressive woman of color was disgusting and speaks to the corruption of our political system. When we talk about billionaires and big money buying elections, this is exactly what we are talking about. But our movement was stronger.

Here's the truth, John: It took tremendous resources and effort to elect working-class primary challengers like Summer, Alexandria, Cori, and Jamaal. Even when we’re outspent in these races, we can win if we have the support of our grassroots movement.

Justice Democrats just launched a goal to raise $50,000 in the wake of Summer’s victory in order to fund future primary fights against the establishment, including Jessica Cisneros’ primary against anti-choice Democrat Henry Cuellar tomorrow. That’s why I'm asking:

Will you join me in supporting Justice Democrats today with a $3 contribution? Every contribution will help elect more progressive candidates to challenge the political establishment and corporate elite.

We’re building something that the political establishment hasn’t seen in decades. The truth is, they’re scared. And they should be.

The unfortunate reality is that it takes a lot of money to run campaigns. That's why it's so extraordinary what the progressive movement has built together, with working people chipping in what they can to take on the billionaire class that wants to protect the status quo.

The truth is that we are up against some very powerful special interests that have been at war with the working class for decades. I'm talking about Wall Street, the pharmaceutical industry, the health insurance industry, the fossil fuel industry, the military industrial complex, the private prison industrial complex and many profitable corporations who continue to exploit their employees.

And these interests spent a tremendous amount of money against Summer Lee in the PA-12 primary. But we had something that these Super PACs don't have, and that is a powerful movement of people who are saying enough is enough. It is time to elect candidates who will stand with working people, not the corporate elite. Candidates who support legislation that we desperately need in this country, like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal.

Now, progressive candidates recruited by Justice Democrats will be up against even worse attacks from Super PACs and corporate-backed incumbents with unlimited sums of money.

That is why I hope you will join me today in supporting Justice Democrats as they prepare for the fights ahead against the corporate political establishment. Justice Democrats relies solely on grassroots donations to recruit and elect the strongest possible working-class progressive candidates to Congress.

Can you chip in to support Justice Democrats today and help them reach their $50,000 fundraising goal? I would not ask if it were not so important.

Your contribution today will give Justice Democrats the funds it needs to take on the political establishment’s Super PACs and elect more progressives candidates. Thank you for chipping in today if you can afford it.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders
