It’s Tiffany Smiley. I wanted to take a moment to talk about why Armed Forces Day is so special to me. My husband, Scotty, has served our country throughout his entire life. After joining the U.S. Army, he became permanently blinded after a suicide bomber attacked his unit in Iraq. DC bureaucrats wanted to immediately discharge Scotty from his position, but I refused to sign the paperwork that would have ended his career. Scotty eventually became the first-ever blind active-duty Army officer, paving the way for future officers to follow in his footsteps. I made a promise that I would always serve others and make it my personal mission to see that all veterans and their families receive the care they need and deserve.  Will you stand with me on this special Armed Forces Day and support my campaign for election to the U.S. Senate? We need someone who will stand up and work to solve our nation's problems. I’m a proven leader, I’ve stood up to the DC bureaucrats at the VA to pave the way for ALL veterans to receive the care and treatment they deserve when they return home. Our veterans are willing to pay the ultimate price for our everyday freedoms. But when they come back home, their service is often overlooked by our very own government. After serving our nation and laying their lives on the line overseas, our veterans should NOT have to beg to get the care they deserve here at home. We need to do better for those who defend our nation, Friend. That is why I’m running for Senate.
