Citizens for Schimpf

Friend,?

It is now candidate forum season.? Candidate forums, debates, or endorsement sessions are occurring on a weekly basis.? This past week, two major media outlets, the Chicago Tribune and the Daily Herald held endorsement sessions.? You can watch the online Daily Herald forum by clicking on the picture below.

?

When all the Republican candidates are together on the same stage it becomes clear that the qualifications and policy ideas of the Schimpf-Schofield team are unmatched.? We are the leaders who can truly give Illinois "A New Start" and fix our broken state.

Volunteer of the Week

Our volunteer to highlight this week is Jan Turner. Jan originally reached out to the campaign for a sign, but she has now knocked on every door in her 10 block neighborhood asking voters to support us. Volunteers like Jan are why we can win this election without a billionaire donor. Thank you, Jan, for your friendship and support!

Media Spotlight

In addition to the endorsement sessions, we are still conducting radio interviews. This past week, I was on with WJPF's Tom Miller for an interesting discussion about what it takes to win statewide in Illinois and how to tell if your taxes are too high.? You can listen to the interview by clicking HERE.

The Chicago Tribune chose not to make their endorsement session available to the public--which is unfortunate.? Voters should be able to listen to candidates themselves and not have to rely on a message filtered by the media.? I'm going to send a summary of what was discussed at the Tribune session to our Century Club members.

The picture below is of the Tribune session.? At the time I was thinking, "When Republicans fight Republicans, JB Pritzker wins." Our campaign will correct bad information when necessary, but we are running a positive campaign based on our qualifications and ideas. This election is bigger than any candidate or campaign. The goal has to be the defeat of JB Pritzker and that only happens with a unified Illinois Republican Party.

Issue Discussion:? Energy Policy

If you watch the Daily Herald endorsement video, you will see that I am the only candidate who was talking about energy policy.? As a former Strategist for Energy & Environment with the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon, I have represented the United States in international negotiations.? I have a knowledge base that is unmatched by any of my competitors about energy and the environment.?

Right now, Illinois has an energy policy that is based on environmental virtue signalling. Closing down our power plants will have practically no impact on climate change.? As your Illinois Governor, I will demand an all-of-the-above energy policy that will make our energy more dependable and affordable.?

Once again, thank you for reading this e-blast. Carolyn and I are working hard to earn your vote!

S/F,

Paul
