John,
Earlier this week I was on MSNBC to talk about Summer Lee’s historic win and how Justice Democrats are responding to the massive wave of outside spending by right-wing and corporate donors.
Several billionaire-backed corporate Super PACs have formed since the creation of Justice Democrats because the political establishment would rather spend endless amounts of money than invest in candidates that reflect the true base of the party.
It has never been more apparent how important it is to elect progressives who will bring their working-class backgrounds to Congress and fight for the people — not the interests of the ultra-wealthy or special interest donors.
Next week, Jessica Cisneros will face anti-abortion Democrat Henry Cuellar, and in June, Kina Collins faces a tough primary against a 26-year corporate incumbent.
But going up against the establishment and right-wing special interests takes major resources, and we need to be able to compete against corporate Super PACs spending millions on behalf of corporate Democrats.
When you make a contribution to Justice Democrats, you’re not only showing that you support the next generation of working-class progressive leadership. You’re also standing up against a network of corporate Super PACs who have spent millions of dollars to try to defeat progressive women of color.
Thank you for your dedication to taking on the entrenched political establishment. Together we’re building a party that truly represents the people.
In solidarity,
Alexandra Rojas
Executive Director, Justice Democrats
