Friend, it’s almost Thanksgiving.
Coco’s out of school, and she’s just back from spending the weekend with Matt’s mom. Brack, my son, has left his cat with us while he road-trips out to El Paso to spend the holiday with his girlfriend’s family -- which means that while Matt’s trying to get the turkey in the brine, our house is literally full of cats. Hadley, our dog, is taking it all in stride.
Before I run to the office for some last-minute work, I wanted to write you this note to say thank you. I’m so enormously grateful to everyone for all that you've done to support and power our campaign -- and to all of those in Texas, fighting for change at every level, to force those in positions of public trust to do the right thing.
I'm grateful for my family, and for all of the support throughout my life that has allowed me to get from that little house in South Oak Cliff to where I am today.
And I know that for many Texans, the opportunities I was lucky to have no longer exist. That's why I got in this fight, and that’s why I decided to run for Congress. And it's why today, as we give thanks, we also recommit to showing up everywhere, listening to everyone, and to keep fighting with and for those who may be a little more vulnerable, those who may have a little or a lot less than we do, for those who may need others fighting for them, and with those who have been in this fight for much longer than we have.
Thank you for partnering with us in this fight, as we run a big-hearted, people-powered race to achieve the positive vision we want to see for Texas and for this country. We couldn't do it without you.
Happy Thanksgiving. See you out on the trail soon,
Julie
