We are entering the final stretch of this campaign. On Monday, mail-in ballots went out to voters which means people are going to start voting any day now, so I want to give you a quick inside look at our campaign operations.
In March, we got poll results that showed 65% of DC’s likely voters are open to voting for an alternative to the Mayor . This is a very high number of voters who are not committed to voting for the incumbent. We also polled on issues, and unsurprisingly, voters are not happy with how the Mayor has handled the most urgent issues facing our city. 64% of voters are not happy with her handling of affordable housing and over 70% of voters think she hasn’t handled public safety well. The polling experts told us that these are tough numbers for an incumbent to overcome.
That’s why, over the last several months, we have organized and activated the strongest field operation in the city, reaching voters at an incredible rate. Thanks to your support and hard work, our team has knocked on 700 doors every weekend, is running daily phone banks, hosting dozens of meet and greets every week, and visiting seniors centers and schools in every ward.
We are seeing incredible excitement and momentum on the ground and we want to thank you for all your hard work. We are kicking off our get out the vote push for the last month of the race with a rally on Sunday at metrobar. Wear your Robert White T-shirt and join us to enjoy some food, drinks and mobilization. I hope to see you there,
