The spread of disinformation can be truly harmful to a campaign or movement. It is usually in the form of targeted messages spread to purposely mislead voters. Unfortunately, learning how to combat disinformation can be a very tricky process. That's why we are proud to bring you an expert in the field to help navigate you through. Our guest speaker this week is Maurice T. Cunningham, J.D. Ph.D., author of the book Dark Money and the Politics of School Privatization. He recently retired as associate professor of political science at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he taught a course on Massachusetts Politics. He is a co-founder and contributor to the influential blog MassPoliticsProfs.org.
This training will provide a framework for how grassroots activists and organizers across Massachusetts can identify misleading messages and effectively address them.
