Justice Democrats

Hello John,

I am proud to support Justice Democrat Summer Lee in her election to represent Pennsylvania's 12th Congressional district.

Summer and I have a lot in common, from beginning our careers as activists and organizers for working people, to getting involved at the local level — I ran for Mayor of Burlington, Summer ran for State Legislature, and we both did it to challenge a status quo that wasn’t delivering for working families in our communities.

I spoke at a rally for Summer on Thursday in Pittsburgh because we are both fighting to deliver for the working class of this country. We stand together in the fight for justice.

We are working towards a shared vision of Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, unions, good wages and safe conditions for every worker, to deliver real progress towards racial, economic, and environmental justice, and to do it all while refusing to accept corporate PAC money.

Can you contribute $3 to Summer’s campaign today to help send Summer to Congress to continue this fight for the families of PA-12?

As an experienced community organizer, Summer Lee understands that working people desperately need leaders in Congress who will stand up to big money interests and fight for an agenda that puts poor and working people first.

From becoming the first Black woman ever to serve in the state legislature from Western Pennsylvania, to defeating dangerous fracking proposals, to passing urgently needed police accountability measures, to showing up on picket lines across the Commonwealth — I know that Summer Lee is the courageous movement-builder we need in Congress.

Progressive candidates, like Summer, recruited and endorsed by Justice Democrats in 2022 are up against corporate-backed candidates with unlimited sums of money. But we have something that they don't have, and that is a powerful movement of people who are saying enough is enough. It is time to elect candidates who will stand with working people, not the corporate elite.

We are just 3 days away from Summer’s primary election and another opportunity to elect a strong progressive to Congress. I've supported Summer since her first run for the state legislature, so I hope you will join me in supporting her now. I am asking — will you chip in what you can to Summer's campaign to elect a true leader for working families to Congress?

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders
